While parent interviews are an important and required part of the admissions process and may be schedule by inquiring about the school, Highlands encourages families to attend as many of the on-campus family events as possible. Special events related to the admission process include Group Tours and Open House, kindergarten screenings, and academic testing. Other events include music and theater performances, family and cultural events, and Parent University educational sessions.

For applicants of all grades and priority in the admission process:

Highlands offers three opportunities for prospective families to visit campus as a campus event. Groups tours are conducted on a weekday morning in the Fall and Spring, led by students, and include current parents for additional perspective on the experience. The Winter Open House is held on a Sunday afternoon in late January. While classes are not in session, all teachers are present for tours led by alumni to see classroom spaces and ask questions about academic curriculum, instructional methodologies, and social-emotional program.
