Admissions Events

Parent tours are an essential part of the admissions process. Guided by our Admissions team, you'll peek into the Student Life Center, observe live instruction, and picture your student learning in our beloved greenspaces.

Date: Saturday, October 4th at 9AM 

Families interested in applying to 4K or Kindergarten are invited to attend a play date on campus. Little ones will enjoy story time and a craft session with the Highlands School librarian, Tynley Baker, followed by a classroom visit to explore learning centers and enjoy a snack. Highlands School Head of School, Kavita Vasil, Director of Enrollment Management, Kellye Allen, and Director of the Lower School, Janie Fahey will be there to connect with families and answer questions.

A hallmark of Highlands School is “Project-Based Learning,” where students take an in-depth investigation of a real-world topic. Projects in the classroom challenge students to apply skills, knowledge, and strategies from various content areas as they conduct authentic research, analyze data, think deeply about problems, and draw conclusions. The end result is the Project Culmination where the students take on the role of “experts” and share their knowledge and expertise by presenting and showcasing their final representations. Please join us for our students' Project Culminations and learn more about this unique offering here at Highlands School.

For families interested in 4K-3rd grade, please join us on Saturday, December 6th from 9AM - 10AM for hot chocolate, a holiday story and craft. Your child is welcome to wear their favorite, cozy PJs.

Our Highlands School Preview Days are open to all current and prospective parents of rising 4K-8th grade students. They are held during the school day, so parents can have a glimpse into student life here at Highlands. You'll see your student's future classroom, hear from administrators, and observe classes.

Prospective 4K-8th grade students participate in an individual classroom visit (or "Shadow Visit"). This is an opportunity for your student to see the campus, interact with peers, and learn more about Highlands School.  

Our Admissions team coordinates these dates with families during the application process.
