4th and 5th Grade Students Get a Glimpse into Middle School

4th and 5th Grade Students Get a Glimpse into Middle School

Twisted Tuesday is an annual tradition for our 4th-8th grade students. On the ½ day before Parent-Teacher conferences, our Middle School Faculty and students host our 4th and 5th grades for a special preview of what they have to look forward to once they move onto 6th grade. This glimpse into Middle School allows the students and teachers to get to know each other, ask questions, and spend a few hours exploring what it’s like to be the leaders on campus.

It kicked off in the morning with a Middle School-led Community Meeting where they talked about all the differentiators and opportunities our 6th-8th grade students get to experience. They heard about the Middle School trip to Boston, all the different clubs and electives, and the special privileges of Student Council (“StuCo”) events. Then, the 4th and 5th swapped places with Middle School – attending classes with each of the teachers.

We couldn’t let the day end without sharing an Advisory Challenge with the 4th and 5th grades. Advisory is a huge part of what makes our Middle School so special. They joined forces with our Middle School Advisory teams for a spirited round of challenges before dismissing for the day.

Our 5th grade parents will also have a Glimpse into Middle School with a parent event this evening, featuring Shelly DuBose, National Math Consultant, previous parents and alumni, and the Middle School faculty.
