New Parent Perspective: Jessica Rodgers

New Parent Perspective: Jessica Rodgers
Christina Coffman

The Rodgers family is new to Highlands this year! Their daughter began Kindergarten in August and we took a few minutes to catch up with Jessica Rodgers to see how their year is going.

We know you have a lot of options when it comes to education, why did you choose to send your child to Highlands?
As parents, we're very intentional about the education of our children. From the moment we arrived on campus for a tour and Storytime we knew Highlands was the perfect choice! We love the small classroom sizes, the school's commitment to excellence, the promotion of cultural diversity, and the passion of the school staff. We also love that Highlands encourages a love of learning. Olivia is incredibly shy, so we wanted to find a school that allowed her to flourish in an environment where she felt loved, respected, and heard! Highlands has definitely exceeded our expectations!

What has Highlands meant to your family?
Highlands School holds a very special place in our hearts. We believe all children deserve access to schools as exceptional as Highlands. We are incredibly thankful for our Highlands School experience.

What has been your favorite Highlands moment thus far?
My favorite moment so far was serving as a chaperone on our research field trip to the Birmingham Zoo with the kindergarten class.  I enjoyed my time with all of the kids and was extremely impressed with their knowledge of reptiles.

Highlands School is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year!
