Welcome, Diane Arnold

While Sarah Engel covers Rachel Nelson’s 3rd grade class during her maternity leave, we are pleased to welcome Diane Arnold who will fill in as Kindergarten Associate in Ms. Thompson’s class.

Diane is a certified teacher, licensed in both Alabama and Georgia for early childhood grades P-3 and elementary grades K-6.  Additionally, she holds endorsements in Gifted Education and Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (ESOL). 

Diane has an MBA from the University of New Orleans, a B.S in Marketing from Louisiana State University, and a B.S.Ed (Early Childhood Education) from the University of Georgia.  She is a retired USAF Officer with expertise in contracting, leadership development training, compliance, and international affairs.  Additionally, Diane taught 2nd grade in a public school in rural Georgia.

Diane and her husband, Ted Barco, recently moved to Birmingham, AL and enjoy spending time with their two miniature labradoodles (Luna and Rex) and their extended families.
