Enrollment contracts are scheduled to be mailed on or about February 1st this year. Please be on the lookout for your envelope in the mail.
You will notice that the enrollment contract for 2017-2018 looks significantly different. This is part of the school’s continuing initiative of updating all of its policies and contracts (For example: faculty contracts and the Student/Parent Handbook have already undergone this process). The former enrollment contract had not been updated in many years, and as you are probably aware, business practices in the educational field have changed dramatically in the last 15+ years. The new contracts are designed to be more transparent and to not only protect the school but each family and child as well. We encourage you to review the contract completely prior to signing.
Some of the more significant changes include:
The incorporation of the Tuition and Fees schedule into the contract to more effectively communicate the financial obligations.
Clarification and changes to termination procedures and financial obligations in the event of termination.
Expanding upon the consequences of non-payment.
The incorporation of Financial Assistance, if applicable, into the contract language.
Provisions for the use of Smart Tuition as the school’s billing system.
A provision for the school to recover costs associated with Domestic Legal issues.
The above is not a complete or comprehensive list of the changes you will find. It is intended solely to highlight some of the provisions you will find in the new contract. Upon receipt of the enrollment contract, please feel free to reach out to Kavita Vasil, Head of School or Jennifer Dillon, Director of Finance and Operations, should you have any questions.
The enrollment contract changes are not connected with any 2017-2018 tuition changes, which the Board approves annually in January.
Family Center contracts are also undergoing a revision. Since they are issued later in the Spring, more information regarding those changes will be sent closer to that time.
We are so looking forward to a successful 2017-2018 school year and in continuing to partner with you in providing a phenomenal educational experience for your child(ren).
