We had a great gathering for our first PA general meeting! Thank you to all who attended and offered such valuable input and ideas. Among many valuable reports, it was especially fun hearing from our Italy travelers, Sandra Parker and Rebecca Waylander, who have brought back a wealth of insights and excitement about Italy (they are already sharing in the classrooms, too). Elise Blackerby also updated us on the kickoff assembly for Country of Study, which will be held on Thursday November 10 and Kim Komisar gave an update on the Museum Night celebration planned for April 6. Look for more exciting details to come, as there’s plenty of anticipation for all things Italian through the year!
We also had the pleasure of hearing from Ms. Vasil regarding all the remarkable ways that the funds from last year’s auction are being used. From 3D printers to classroom touch screens to playground development to STEM equipment… the list goes on, thanks to your generosity! It was truly exciting to hear all that is being accomplished with these funds, across every grade level.
In PA events news, Fall Festival is coming right up on October 28from 4:00-6:00. Get your costume ideas flowing, and come prepared for lots of fall fun. Special thanks goes out to Courtney Stephens for chairing Fall Festival this year… Be sure to ask her how you can help!
And speaking of events, have you purchased your PA Family Pack yet? This convenience package includes admission to Fall Festival and Spring Fling, and also a donation per student toward Faculty/Staff Appreciation. Your Family Pack purchase is your “fast pass” into events, and also helps the PA budget for events in advance to maximize fun for all! To purchase your Family Pack by phone or in person, contact Nancy Riley in the school office. To purchase your Family Pack online, visit highlandsschool.org. After you log in to PULSE, click Resources, then Family Pack, then Register Now.
