Elementary School

Moving into grades four and five, our students continue to pursue a rigorous program in the core academic areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students continue their education in the fine arts and also select a core world language – French, Spanish, or Chinese – on which to focus for the rest of their years at Highlands. Students are given opportunities to develop and refine critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they work independently and as members of a team. Teachers are committed to individualized learning and understand how these students learn best. While continuing a caring, supportive, and developmentally stimulating academic atmosphere, students prepare for the next level by moving into a departmentalized environment in the fourth and fifth grades. Our teachers are passionate about their specific areas of expertise with children and learning.
