Leadership Development

Community meetings are a tradition at Highlands School, and one that starts in early in our students' academic journey. Each year, every kindergarten through middle school class has the opportunity to host two Community Meetings. Much preparation goes into each Community Meeting as every students presents individually on the subject matter. These meetings are held in our Spencer Center auditorium for the students' parents and peers. 

Our Fine Arts department works with each grade level to host an annual school play for their parents and peers. The plays are an excellent opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zones and flex their creative muscles. They are a beloved creative outlet for our entire Highlands community. 

Project-Based Learning is a hallmark of the Highlands educational experience. Beginning in 4K, students work through a very thorough process to become experts on the subject matter at hand. At the end of their weeks long study, they present their findings to their parents in the final Project Culmination. They field questions from the parents and present their findings using various visuals.
